Human Rights Report from Columbia and the Epic Westin Hotel Performance/Protest!

Tonight on Pissed Off Radio
6 to 8 PM
www.PirateCatRadio.com

We'll talk with MOIRA BIRSS, who just returned from two years working with the Fellowship of Reconciliation Colombia Program as an human rights observer in San Jose de Apartado and Bogota, Colombia to support communities and organizations that nonviolently resist war and displacement in the context of Colombia's decades-long conflict.

We're also thrilled to have with us WENDY VINAIGRETTE from the BRASS LIBERATION ORCHESTRA and TOOTLES from HAVOQ/PRIDE AT WORK (with their fabulous new website!) who were some the wonderful folks behind the utterly amazing musical performance / protest action last weekend at the Westin Hotel. If you're living in a cave and haven't seen it yet, here's the brilliant video that has exceeded 100,000 views since Monday!

San Franciscans to Get Tasered for Sitting on the Sidewalk? And YWU's Guide to Guilt Free Eating!

TONIGHT ON PISSED OFF RADIO
FRI. 2/26/10 6 to 8 PM

The new chief of the San Francisco Police Department, George Gascon, wants to make it illegal to sit or lie on a public sidewalk and wants to arm the city's police officers with tasers.

We'll speak with SF Police Commissioner, VINCENT PAN, about the safety of the tasers and whether or not we can trust an SFPD armed these allegedly "non lethal" weapons.

We'll also speak with BOB OFFER-WESTORT from the Coalition on Homelessness about Gascon's proposed "Sit / Lie" law that would make it illegal to sit or lie on a public sidewalk. Who is this law really targeting and why? Is this just another Care-not-Cash-like wedge issue designed to hurt progressive Supervisoral candidates in swing districts this fall?

We'll also talk with some members of YOUNG WORKERS UNITED who have just released their "Dining with Justice 2010: A Guide to Guilt Free Eating." Hear who made it this brilliant booklet of "socially responsible restaurants that follow labor laws and treat their employees with dignity and respect."

A Year Without Getting in a Car: ADAM GREENFIELD

SF's Adam Greenfield went through all of 2009 without getting in a car and apparently this really pissed off the commenters on SFHate, which means me definitely must be doing something right!

The Gubbins Experiment, as he dubbed it, went pretty damn well and it earned him the attention of CNN, Time.com, and more. Find out what he learned and call in with your questions!
